SBA holds Corporate Governance in Emerging Markets conference
The School of Business Administration (SBA) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) held the conference Corporate Governance in Emerging Markets on May 9, 2016.
Conference speakers included Professor Jonathan Batten of Monash University and Editor of Emerging Markets Review, and Dr. Peter Szigalyi of Central European University Business School, who is Editor of the Journal of Multinational Financial Management.
Topics at the conference included, but were not limited to, corporate governance in the Middle East, corporate governance in family companies, succession planning in family firms, and the effects of corporate governance reforms on the value of firms.
Present during the conference was Dr. Jörg Bley, Interim Dean of SBA; faculty and staff members from SBA; and students. The conference was organized by Dr. Abed Al-Nasser Abdallah, Associate Professor in Accounting.
